Introducing the LTC Teaching Staff

Meet our teaching staff! They run drills, junior lessons and private lessons. If you are interested in taking lessons from one of them, please call the club. 

Brian Banas

Owner and Tennis Director, USPTA Certified 

Brian joined the LaTuchie Tennis Center during April 2000 as the club's General Manager and Tennis Director. He has taught tennis in Northeast Ohio for over 20 years. 

He and his wife, Maureen, purchased the LTC during 2004 and are committed to making the club the best tennis value in the area. 

Brian also owns Mayfield Village Racquet Club but spends the majority of his time and instructs solely at the LTC. 


Selena Kim

Club Manager, Teaching Professional

Selena Kim has been involved in the tennis world for the past 25 years and has made a career of it in various capacities.

Selena has taught tennis and served as LaTuchie Tennis Center Club Manager since 2000, directed area parks and recreation programs throughout that time, and coached tennis at Stow High School for 14 seasons.

She played tennis at Mentor High School, captained numerous USTA Adult League District Champion teams, competed in the USTA Nationals at the 9.0 Mixed Level during 2010 and 2012, and finished as the 2017 National 4.0 Runner-up. 


Brian Peters

Tennis Professional, USPTA Certified

Brian Peters joined the LTC staff during December 2010. Brian worked as the Akron Zips Women's Team Assistant Coach, then Head Coach. 

He has experience teaching high-level players at both the club and collegiate level, and he played Division 1 tennis at Wright State. 


Dale Israelson

Tennis Professional, USPTA Certified 

Dale joined the club's professional teaching staff in May 2021. He is a USPTA-certified teaching professional with more than 30 years of experience in the industry. 

He was the Junior Activities Coordinator and Head Pro at Chagrin Valley Athletic Club. He was the varsity tennis coach for the Boys and Girls teams at Kenston High School. 

For the USTA, he has also been a NTRP verifier, USTA area training center head scout and OTCA District representative. 


Shannon Newnes

Tennis Professional

A former Akron University standout, Shannon played both singles and doubles for the university and served as a four-year team captain. Prior to joining the LTC staff, Shannon was a club pro at The Lakes Golf and Country Club and assistant director of junior programming at Olympic Indoor Tennis Club. She is a certified teaching professional with the British Lawn Tennis Association Levels 1 & 2.


Adam Hosner

Tennis Professional

An avid tennis player since the age of 7, Adam was a District Qualifier and 2005 graduate at Jackson High School. An active player in USTA Adult League Tennis, he won an Ohio State Championship as a LaTuchie team member during 2022. He is currently the Head Coach at Stow-Munroe Falls High School.
